The Toy Man awards Zombie Ninja Pirates!

The Toy Man, an independent product evaluation firm, has just posted their Product Evaluation of Zombie Ninja Pirates. It was awarded the Seal of Approval, the Award of Excellence, and the eChoice Award! We are very pleased to be given such great honors.

Their evaluators really loved the game.

According to many of our evaluation participants, Gozer Games, the creators of Zombie Ninja Pirates, they really blew the doors out with this game. With Zombie Ninja Pirates they have proven that they are truly the mouse that roared! Who would ever imagine that a game with this large of a level of funQuotient™ could come from such a seemingly simple and average game.

They also found it highly replayable.

During the game Play, there was plenty of laughter and comments about the various artwork on the game cards. The consumers were fascinated with the game. With the game being fast-paced and concluding promptly, this enabled us to have a larger number of consumers being able to play the game. It also caused a substantial increase in the number of consumers returning to the game in the hopes for more game Play.

In conclusion of the spontaneous consumer hands-on evaluation of the products they examined, we sat down and went through the video-tapes and consumer feedback forms to establish where”Zombie Ninja Pirates ” stood with the consumers. It was clearly evident that “Zombie Ninja Pirates ” pulled a substantial draw of consumers for repeated Play. It demonstrated that it hosted an excellent creative agenda as well as coming in quite strong in contribution to skill development and response level. “Zombie Ninja Pirates ” passed this segment of our evaluation with the highest level of accomplishment.

“The gameplay is simple and efficient… The cards are all vividly illustrated and aptly named, with great flavor texts ranging from the ‘Pirate’ card’s ‘Gar!’ to the ‘bite’ card’s tongue-in-cheek ‘nom nom nom’ written just below a charming picture of a zombie chick munching on some poor guy’s shoulder… Despite its simplicity the game remains engaging after several plays. GenCon!

Gozer Games is getting excited about GenCon, and we hope you are as well! GenCon is the largest gaming convention in the US. Based in Indianapolis, IN, it hosts thousands of attendees for four straight days of gaming. Gozer Games will be in the dealer hall at booth 533, where we’ll have plenty of copies of Collateral Damage: The Anime Board Game and Zombie Ninja Pirates for sale. In addition, we’ll be running demos of Zombie Ninja Pirates throughout the convention. Most of the sessions are already sold out, but you might be able to find a spot or two left by checking the GenCon events web site.

Rock Paper Scissors?

In the last couple of days, there has been a lot of news about a new variant on Rock Paper Scissors (Lizard Spock). Named Monkey-Pirate-Robot-Ninja-Zombie, it uses hand gestures to determine a winner in a contest between two people. (Who hasn’t heard of Rock Paper Scissors?) Gozer Games wants to know, what about Mad Scientists? As a reminder, our card game Zombie Ninja Pirates, published in January, 2010, has Zombies, Ninjas, Pirates, and Mad Scientists. You get to play all four types, and collect objects which give you points, depending on what types you are at game end.

Zombie Ninja Pirates is available in game stores everywhere, or can be purchased from our web site.

We will have demos in the game room as well as games available for purchase in the dealer’s room.

Anime Central!

Gozer Games will be back at Anime Central this coming weekend. We will be at booth 429 in the dealer’s room, so come check us out!

In addition, we’re doing something unique this year. ACen is our “home base” anime convention, so we want to do something special for them for 2010. We will be running a Life Size/Live Action/Cosplay version of Collateral Damage: The Anime Board Game at Anime Central this year. Like Cosplay Chess, you get to play the various character pieces on the board, with a large board laid out in the middle of the room. Or, you can watch others fall in love and fight each other. We will be capturing the event, so we’ll be sure to post pictures when it’s done.

We should have a couple of other surprises in store as well.

GAMA Trade Show

Gozer Games had a great time at the GAMA Trade Show in Las Vegas. We had a booth, and had many demo copies of Zombie Ninja Pirates on hand for retailers. Several demos were played, and a good time was had by all. We met some great people, saw some friends, and made some great business connections. Watch this space in coming weeks for some potentially big news!

Zombie Ninja Pirate Release Party

Zombie Ninja Pirates is now officially out and should be available at your local friendly gaming store. To celebrate, last weekend we threw a release party at ConFusion in Troy, MI. There were games, refreshments, a contest, and lots of fun. People had a great time! If you missed it, you’ll have to check us out at one of our other upcoming conventions. Just check the calendar to see where we’ll be in the future.

Also be sure to check with your local friendly gaming store to see if they carry Zombie Ninja Pirates and other Gozer Games. If they don’t, ask them to please order it. Your support helps us be able to publish more games in the future.
